Abstract Introducing precise atmosphere information into point positioning enables rapid ambiguity resolution and introduces a significant accuracy improvement. However, it can only be implemented in regions with dense networks stable communication links. For larger areas, e.g., an intercontinental level, there is conflict between the of corrections amount to disseminated. We develop hierarchical augmentation mode combine advantages fitting model region interpolation relieve burden. Relying on fewer coefficients applied over large areas as essential information, unmodeled errors are calculated at each reference station, further correction optional compensation depending magnitude residuals. perform proposed models 103 EUREF Permanent Network stations 200-km station spacing 84 external validation. The ionosphere troposphere have average about 4.2 1.3 cm, respectively, under meteorologically calm conditions. error transmission determined by residuals reduced 61% 96% for ionospheric tropospheric delays, respect legacy mode. Further implemented, i.e., residuals, achieve instantaneous convergence 83.6% all solutions, overall initialization time within 1.0 min. Thus, satisfies real-time requirements significantly reduces massive communication.
